Founded in 1986, Martin's News Shops has grown to be an industry leader. A lot has changed over the years, but not our basic principles. Nothing is more important to us than our customers.
Every space is unique, and Martin's News Shops enhance every location's specific footprint. Our stores adapt to large open areas, like Boston's South Station, or the bustling lobbies of Manhattan skyscrapers.
Our stores offer a wide variety of products that bring convenience and quality to our customers. Products range from healthy snacks and beverages, to greeting cards, health & beauty aids, and even good old fashioned press.
We custom design all of our stores, and build them from the ground up, in order to maximize the customer's convenience. The result is a store that seems like it was meant to be there.
Martin sold candy and newspapers to bustling commuters as a young child in New York City, and then worked his way up to become excutive vice president of a national newsstand chain. With a lifetime of experience under his belt, Martin Green went on to establish his own company based on one simple premise: to be the best at what we do. The stores would be better built, better merchandised, and better run.
Philip has spent his entire career engaged in every facet of the newsstand industry. Challenged with submersion in a rapidly evolving marketplace, he has successfully contributed to the company’s growth and bottom line year after year. Philip has direct responsibility in leasing, staffing, purchasing, inventory controls and quality assurance.
Darren's background in architecture and design allows him to customize every store to suit the needs of the space and it's clientele. As trends and tastes change, so too must the products and services. Darren constantly strives to exceed the customer's expectations of convenience and quality.
Sonja joined the company as an administrative assistant soon after graduating from college. Though she did not intend to pursue a career in the retail industry, the challenges and responsibilities working for a small successful business appealed to her. Sonja returned to school and obtained a Certificate in Human Resources to enhance her professional abilities. She looks forward to being the administrative “glue” of the company as it continues to grow and evolve in an ever changing retail environment.
